Still not better...

But finally have some answers.

So I had two whole days of feeling good. Still took it easy, rested, didn't want to over tax myself. Well I was great Fri and Sat, woke up Sunday with a HORRIBLE sore throat, well continuation of a horrible sore throat, just worse then ever!!! Took everything, advil, aleve, vicodan, sucrets, tea, gargling, sprays, NOTHING helped for long!! went back to the Doc who said i had pink eye again and that my throat was "fine" that it wasn't red at all that it was me being "stressed" and that was causing the sore throat. I'm sorry, WHAT???? I'm stressed?? Yes b/c you are NOT listening to me stupid doctors!

So i decided to take it into my own hands and called an ENT (ear nose and throat specialist) The office staff was FABULOUS and got me in the next day which is TODAY. So i gave them the whole sob story and told him that I HURT a LOT and no one believes me and tell me to take more advil and just go to work and be less stressed.

So the doc LISTENED to me and decided to scope my nose to my vocal cords to check the deep down back of my throat. OK, scope down the nose, fun? NOT SO MUCH!!! eek! But he said, when you look through my mouth at my throat, it looks completely normal, tonsils are fine, etc. But when you go through my nose down my throat!! ICK, my vocal cords and back of my throat are very red and inflammed, he said probably more so but I've been taking an anti-inflammatory around the clock that has helped it, it's probably been so much worse based on the pain. Basically he cultured saying that it COULD be strep or a bacterial infection, but chances are it's not, but just in case he is doing a full culture (B/c a rapid strep is not as accurate)

BUT he is almost 100% that I have a fungal infection around my vocal cords and the back of my throat! YAY!!! well not yay, but at least its an answer! HE LISTENED TO ME and believes me and not that I'm just "stressed" and making up the pain! YAY!

So i have to take this liquid (nystatin used for thrush) and swish and swallow it four x a day for a month. I have to go back in 3 weeks to be rescoped (EEK!) to make sure it's healing! Have to take it easy on my voice to limit inflammation, so no choir for now (not that I could, I sound like a dang frog croaking not to mention it HURTS) and it's gonna take time to get better, so to keep taking the anti inflammatorys...BUT i'm gonna be fine and I'm not CRAZY!!! (well not about being in pain or sick!!! Crazy in other ways!) I can NOT tell you how relieved I am!!!! *BIG HUGE SIGH*

So that is the BIG update for the moment...I go back to work tomorrow and all should be hunky dorey in a month or so!! YAY...OH and I added a slideshow to the bottom of the blog, shows a bunch of pictures without crowding up the page!!
