We leave Friday for Daytona. We are SO SO SO SO SO excited. So the race is on Saturday the 5th at 8pm. Pre race and presentation is at 715pm. WE know the race will be on TNT on SUNDAY and probably ESPN the time of the race. Maybe sports center?? Not sure. But we will be video taping. NO WORRIES!

So just a quickie update. Matt is well, healing nicely. in a BRIGHT blue cast!! Very little pain. He goes back to work on the 14th of June (PRAISE GOD). Speaking of working, I've gotten several babysitting jobs, which is nice. Please keep the prayers coming though! Got a month of pay that I got to come up with!

OK off to bed. Gettin my hairs cut tomorrow!! Have a blessed day in the Lord!

2 weeks post op

So today is the 2 week point. We go today to get Matt's splint off, stitches out and a full cast placed on that will be there indefinitely. 6-8 weeks we think.

Sorry I haven't been on you see computer guru of the house AKA DORK tried to install a windows product on to the Mac. And said Mac went KABLOOOOEY!!!! hence why he is called a DORK. He is still in the process of restoring or info and data (thank God for off site server backups!! THANK YOU MOZY) and our home computer is not accessible yet. So I'm on the lap top.

SO that's it for the update. Nothing new going on...Just busy playing "nurse" and "house" with the patient. Looking forward to him getting some of his independence back. YAY

Well have a blessed day in the Lord! :)

1 Week 1 Day Post Op

And I have not thrown my hubby out of the house yet!!!

No I'm kidding, he is being a relatively good patient, and not driving me to insane! He is healing very well and has weaned off of most narcotic pain meds except for maybe once a day. Motrin is taking care of the pain! YAY! He goes back on Wednesday to have the stitches removed and the cast put on, so I will definitely give him the GOOD STUFF before we go! :)

Otherwise, all is status quo here. We are incredibly blessed by the outpouring of love and assistance!! We have gotten so many meals that we have NO LIE 7 meals FROZEN in the freezer! Not including whats in the fridge waiting to be eaten! We are still to hold faith that God will continue to supply our needs, whether physical or financial, and so far He has done so for us!

Its just over 2 weeks until Daytona and RACE DAY and receiving the new wheelchair! I can NOT WAIT, neither can Matt. He is just so darn excited and wants to be zoom zooming around the house! (Hopefully not over my toes)

Well its after midnight and I need to get my patient, er husband, and myself to bed. We have a long day of nothing tomorrow! HA! Have a blessed day in the Lord!

OH P.S.
As you can see I've been tweeking our blog. I've made the lettering a bit larger and easier for those blind folk to see! :) Fiddled with the colors and order and stuff too! :) So opinions, suggestions. I'll read them!! (doesn't mean I'll follow them tho! hee hee)

5 days post op...

So Matt is doing very well. I'm sorry I haven't updated but its been a tad bit bonkers around here. Matt came home THE NEXT DAY from surgery (about 2 days sooner then expected) He is doing well on oral medication and has loved laying around doing nuttin'. We went to the ortho doc for his post op today, just to make sure he is doing well and things are healing. He took some new XRays of Matt's footsie to see how it is doing and how the pinning is. He has a plate and 6 screws in place!!! YIKES! but his foot is so straight, and the heel cord release helped to flatten his foot down. So of course, being the nurse that I am, i asked for the before and after XRays. So i figured I'd share with you! :) Not everyone is for that, so if you don't like bone XRays, then I wouldn't scroll down after this post! But for all those who are sick like me, here ya go!!!! You can still see the splint around his leg on the after pictures, just FYI.

Otherwise Matt is well, healing nicely, I'm a bit tired from the total care, but we are managing. We've had meals brought over, and a lot of family and friends supporting us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as the finances are kinda freaking me out a bit. We are walking on faith and choosing to stay obedient with our tithes and givings, but its scary when you don't know where the next mortgage payment is coming from. But we know God is faithful, and we are holding on to that hope.

So below are the XRays, and I'm off to medicate my hubby! :) FUN! DRUGS! Have a blessed day in the Lord!!!!

Surgery Day...

As you can see its 1230am and I'm still awake. Pre surgery nerves, and it ain't my surgery! OIY

Matt is having his major foot reconstruction including a bunion removal, heel cord release and lengthening, heel resizing, and foot repositioning. Phew that's a mouth full!

He will be admitted for a couple of days and off from work for several weeks. I'll be with him (and my dad will be with me!) and this is the same surgeon from his last hamstring release 3 years ago.

Matt's nervous of course, but we know that God is in control, and all will be OK. Just that whole surgery nerves. His surgery should begin around 830 and last about 4 hours. Please Keep matt in your prayers (and me while I do the whole waiting game..ugh)

I'll post an update as soon as I know something. I'll have the laptop with me to keep me entertained while WAITING. Oh and dad to play cards with!!!

Also financially we are taking a major hit with me being out of work and now matt as well for surgery. I know that God will supply all our needs, but we are a tad bit stressed. Just keep that in your prayer as well!!!!

Have a blessed day in the Lord!!!

Surgery Change...

So as you know Matt's surgery was scheduled for next Thursday the 12th. Its been bumped up a day to the 11th at 8:30am (at Palms West Hospital for those who want to know).

Of course this makes Matt a nervous ninny b/c now its a day sooner, but I have full confidence in our surgeon and even more confidence that God will bring him through w/o any complications! My dad is off next week from work and is going to stay with me in the waiting room!! I didn't even realize how much I wanted someone with me until it was offered. I had already planned on being alone and just 'dealing' by myself. It will be nice to have the company! I'm very grateful!

So that's it. I'll keep you posted and updated on everything and how Matt is doing of course. And you know show you pics of him with the little paper hat on his head! hee hee hee, I'm devious.

Off to work, b/c today is THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!! I'm quite excited. (can you tell??? ☺)

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Another 80's Party!!

So we got to go through another 80's party! My friend N's hubby B turned 30 and they had an 80's party to celebrate! WE had a blast! It really was fun! So I thought I'd share some pics. We had done this in the past but we revised our "costumes" a bit. we spiked Matt instead of Mohawk and he had purple, green and blue. he won 3rd prize for the best hair! the award stuck to his head! hee hee hee. My hair looked better at the beginning of the evening, the pic is after everything was done, but still definitely 80's!!!! ENJOY!!!
Have a blessed day in the Lord...
